# 37 · 奥林匹克运动会

The Olympic Games will be held in our country in four years' time. As a great many people will be visiting the country, the government will be building new hotels, an immense stadium, and a new Olympic-standard swimming pool. They will also be building new roads and a special railway line. The Games will be held just outside the capital and the whole area will be called 'Olympic City'. Workers will have completed the new roads by the end of this year. By the end of next year, they will have finished work on the new stadium. The fantastic modern buildings have been designed by Kurt Gunter. Everybody will be watching anxiously as the new buildings go up. We are all very excited and are looking forward to the Olympic Games because they have never been held before in this country.

* **will be held**：将举行；hold表示举办；被动突出活动而非主办者。

* **a great many**：许多；只接可数名词复数，不接money等不可数名词。

* **by the end of**：到……结束时为止；by给出截止点，常与完成时配合。

* **have been designed**：已经被设计；完成时被动，by可说明设计者，不要漏been。

* **go up**：建起来；上升；本课指楼房建起，含义要看主语，不只译成上去。

* **looking forward to**：期待；盼望；这里 to 是介词；期待做某事用 -ing，不用动词原形。

#### The Olympic Games will be held in our country in four years' time.

简单句，主谓结构. 本句为一般将来时的被动语态，其构成为will be done.

#### As a great many people will be visiting the country, the government will be building new hotels, an immense stadium, and a new Olympic-standard swimming pool.

复合句，主句主谓宾结构，用了将来进行时；句首是as 引导的原因状语从句，主谓宾结构，也是将来进行时，其构成一般为will be doing.

#### They will also be building new roads and a special railway line.

简单句，主谓宾结构，将来进行时.

#### The Games will be held just outside the capital and the whole area will be called 'Olympic City'.

并列句，and 连接前后两句，两句均为一般将来时的被动语态；前句为主谓结构，后句 called 后仍有名称补语 Olympic City，不能只分析到 will be called。

#### Workers will have completed the new roads by the end of this year.

简单句，主谓宾结构.

\[关键句型] 本句为将来完成时，will have done 形式.

#### By the end of next year, they will have finished work on the new stadium.

简单句，主谓宾结构.

\[关键句型] 本句也是将来完成时.

#### The fantastic modern buildings have been designed by Kurt Gunter.

简单句，主谓结构，用了现在完成时的被动语态，has/have been done 形式，通常一件作品在注明由谁进行设计时，需要用被动，designed by sb.

#### Everybody will be watching anxiously as the new buildings go up.

复合句，主句主谓结构，用了将来进行时；从句为as 引导的时间状语从句，主谓结构.

#### We are all very excited and are looking forward to the Olympic Games because they have never been held before in this country.

并列复合句，主句为并列句，and 连接前后两句，前句为主系表结构，后句为省略了主语的主谓宾结构；后面跟了一个because 引导的原因状语从句，该从句为主谓结构，用了现在完成时的被动语态.

本句词组look forward to 后面如果接动词，需要接动名词v-ing 形式，to 在这里作介词，并非动词不定式，例：We're \[really] looking forward to seeing you \[again]. 我们非常盼望能再见到你.
