By offering subsidies or grants, governments can support the development of a thriving domestic film industry. This investment would not only improve the quality of locally produced films but also generate employment, boost revenue from film sales, and potentially increase tourism. For example, New Zealand experienced a surge in tourism following the success of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, which benefited from government funding.

In conclusion, foreign films dominate the market primarily due to their superior production quality and internationally recognized talent. However, increased financial support from governments could enable local filmmakers to enhance the quality of their productions, fostering a more competitive and culturally rich domestic film industry.
