> An accident that occurred in the skies over the Grand Canyon in 1956 resulted in the **establishment** of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to regulate and **oversee** the operation of aircraft in the skies over the United States, which were becoming quite congested.

**重点词块：** **result in**、**establishment**、**oversee**

:::

| --- | --- | --- |
| **result in** | 导致 | lead to |

* **长主语：** `An accident that occurred in the skies over the Grand Canyon in 1956` that occurred...
* **主干与目的：** `resulted in the establishment of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to regulate and oversee the operation of aircraft` resulted in 表造成机构成立；to regulate...
* **空域背景：** `which were becoming quite congested` which 紧接 skies over the United States，说明美国空域当时愈发拥挤；不是说 FAA 拥挤。

长主语先界定事故，`resulted in` 给制度后果，`to regulate` 给成立目的，`which` 补空域背景。

> `〔一次事故〕 resulted in 〔机构成立〕 to 〔监管目的〕, which 〔当时空域情况〕.`

> The accident resulted in a review of the crossing to improve safety, which had been a concern for years.

仿写第 1 句事故促成交叉口复查，`to improve safety` 给目的，`which had been a concern` 指安全问题。

`result in` 接结果，`result from` 接原因，方向相反。

> The flood resulted in a new drainage plan to protect nearby homes, which had been damaged twice before.

> An accident / that occurred in the skies over the Grand Canyon in 1956 resulted in the **establishment** of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to regulate and **oversee** the operation of aircraft in the skies over the United States, / which were becoming quite congested.

> A serious collision that occurred near the town in 2008 resulted in the creation of a new safety office to oversee roads which had become dangerously busy.
